Hi everyone. With today’s news on the Covid-19 cases in our area, it’s apparent that Plan A for graduation will not take place at DRHS. So here is PLAN B:
Graduation gowns are due to arrive at the school this week. On Friday, June 12th, between 1:00 and 3:30, graduates are asked to pick up their gowns and caps at the school. We will have a safe set-up in the forum. You will be able to have the gown at home for a few days. At the same time that you pick up your gown, you will pay your $50 grad fee, return any books, uniforms and pay sports fees owing and any cafeteria meal tickets you may have. For those who already paid the full amount of the grad fee, you will get your refund at this time.
Friday afternoon (June 12th) we will record the speeches of the Valedictorian, Salutatorian and Grad Class President. So Abby, Ethan and Bailey, be ready and get in touch with me to establish a time for Friday afternoon.
Starting on Monday, June 15th, each graduate will have a time where they are to come to the gym and receive their diploma. You can bring family members with you, but no more than 8 people. A picture will be taken of you on the graduation stage. You must arrive on time and leave prior to the next graduate coming in. Your gown will be left at the school and you get to keep your cap. Enter the building through the same door that the buses drop you off in the morning (next to the playground) and exit through the door leading to the parking lot. This is to reduce a crowd at the entrances. Don’t come into the school until it’s your time. Please respect other graduates allotted time in the gym. A virtual graduation will be put together to be aired on Wednesday, June 17th at 6:00 p.m.
Here is the schedule:
