Two NBFL AIL Solidarity Awards valued at $500 each are offered annually. The objective of the award is to encourage greater public awareness and understanding of the value of unions to workers and society in New Brunswick. Applicants must be pursuing post-secondary education on a full-time basis or enrolled in high school at the grade 12 level or in the General Educational Development (GED) program. Applicants must return a completed application form and fully comply with all entry rules. Deadline for receipt of entries is June 30th each year. The successful applicant will be notified when a decision is reached and an official announcement of the winner will be made by the Secretary-Treasurer of the New Brunswick Federation of Labour. There are two scholarships of an annual value of $500.00 each. The scholarships are for FIRST YEAR attendance at any University in the Atlantic Province or first year attendance in a two year program of the New Brunswick Community College, excepting where the desired academic program is not available in the region. THOSE ELIGIBLE are children, or legal wards of members and deceased members, or members in good standing, of a local union affiliated with the New Brunswick Federation of Labour. BASIS OF AWARDS are graduation marks, aptitude, promise and need. Applications must be on the prescribed form and must be received by the staff of the New Brunswick Federation of Labour Education Committee not later than June 30th of each year Successful applicants will be notified immediately when the decision is reached by the New Brunswick Federation of Labour Education Committee and official announcement of the winners will be made by the Secretary-Treasurer of the New Brunswick Federation of Labour.

myBlueprint has partnered once again with the Canadian Scholarship Trust Foundation (CSTF) to give away $150,000 in bursaries!

You read that right! $150,000 goes to students to help them realize their post-secondary goals.

The CSTF supports access to post-secondary education and believes finances should not hinder post-secondary education.

The Canadian Scholarship Trust family are excited to provide $150,000 worth of bursaries to students facing financial barriers to help them access post-secondary education.

These bursaries are designed to support your students with financial needs.

The deadline to apply is April 14th, 2023!

A $1000.00 bursary will be offered this year to a student who intends to pursue their studies at a post-secondary institution.

Eligibility

All Anglophone and Francophone New Brunswick public high school graduate students graduating and accepted (or on a waiting list) in the current year at any campus of the New Brunswick Community College, the Collège communautaire du Nouveau-Brunswick or the New Brunswick College of Craft and Design are eligible.

One scholarship is available for each New Brunswick public high school in the year for which it was granted.

 

Value

The total value of this scholarship is $1,000 awarded in two equal installments against to student tuition fees: the 1st installment is awarded at the beginning of the academic year, and the 2nd at the beginning of the second term upon successful completion of the first term and the student has returned to class.

 

Deadline

All applicants must submit the completed application form to their high school Guidance Office no later than May 27th.

Note: If May 27 falls on a Saturday or Sunday, your application form is due the next business day.

CUPE 2745 is offering one scholarship per region valued at $1000 each are available annually for full-time attendance at a post-secondary institution, university, or community college.

Eligibility:

1. Union members in good standing with CUPE Local 2745.

2. Sons, daughters, or legal wards of members in good standing CUPE Local 2745.

Basis of awards: Consideration will be given to a reflection paper. marks, financial need, and aptitude. 

Applications must be completed on the current form and must be postmarked on or before May 2nd, 2022.

Solve Your Debts Scholarship, 2022
As a non-profit organization, our vision is long-term financial wellness for all. With our scholarship program, we aim to improve financial literacy among youth in Atlantic Canada and to help reduce the burden of student debt. We award multiple $1,000 scholarships to winning applicants each year and have awarded over $200,000 in scholarship funds to date.
The deadline for this year’s submissions is April 15th, 2022.
A great aspect about this scholarship is that it is not based on academic grades and is open to all who wish to apply.

Virtual Shadow Day happening March 29th from 9 am to 12:30 pm to all interested students:

Have you ever been curious how things work? What makes your computer operate? How can you use technology to help the environment and reverse the effects of climate change? Ever ponder what an engineer even does?

Shadow Day is your chance to learn about what the engineering profession is, what it is like to be an engineering student, and hear about some of the really cool clubs, societies and opportunities that exist when you choose to pursue a degree in engineering.

Join the Engineering Undergraduate Society (EUS) at the University of New Brunswick March 29th, 2022 starting at 9:00 am for a day full of interactive presentations, a panel from current students ready to answer any questions you have, and your chance to win UNB Engineering Merch!!

Oulton College is offering three evening webinars for students. Two are program specific highlighting their Policing and Corrections Program as well as our Veterinary Technician program. The other is a great information session on Oulton College and the 19 programs we offer.

This is a friendly reminder that AARAO will be hosting their next virtual AARAO fair this Thursday, November 18th on Kumospace from 7:00pm – 9:00pm. This event will be handing out a cash prize of $500 to one lucky student, just for attending! Students may access the site by heading to: Atlantic Association of Registrars and Admissions Officers (AARAO) (vfairs.com). Students can register for our fairs by going to www.aarao.ca/fairs. This information will also be posted on the DRHS FB page and the school website under Guidance and C. Harquail.
 
You are also being reminded to check the DRHS website for guidance information on a regular basis. Upcoming post-secondary school events are being posted regularly, and you would not want to miss out on an event.

Saint Mary's University will be hosting a webinar next Wednesday, November 17, at 7pm. It will be a general presentation on Saint Mary’s and what they have to offer. Length of presentation: 30-40 mins, followed by a Q&A. A waiver code will be provided for anyone in attendance, this will allow participants to apply for free!
