Well guys, we almost made it through.  Hopefully this last week finds you and your families safe and sound.  I have put the last of the online lessons and assignments on the site.  You've been doing great, and this last week will wrap up all of the at home learning for this school year.

REMIDER:  All grade eleven students who are working toward getting the credit in the course, all work you are going to submit must be done by this Friday.

Hey everybody,  hope you all enjoyed the summer weather most of last week had to offer.  I know it’s getting tougher to focus on school as summer gets here, but we only have two weeks left and you’re all doing great.

the second last set of lessons and assignments are on line and ready for you.  Keep plugging away, and as always I’ll be reaching out this week so if you know you want to chat drop me a text, email, messenger, etc.

With everything going on in zone 5 currently, I really hope everyone is staying safe and staying calm.  We’ve made it this far together, well make it the rest of the way.

Cheers my mathletes.

To add to this week’s information are a couple important dates

MAY 22. -  Last day for incoming grade eleven and twelve students to choose and register for courses online.  Information about this process is on school website homepage.

JUNE 12. -  This is last day for all course work to be submitted.  This means if you are taking either grade eleven course for the purpose of receiving a credit, all of your work must be done by this date.

Good morning everyone.

I hope everybody had a good long weekend and got a chance to at least enjoy the sun for a while.  Our new lessons and assignments are on Khan Academy.  Keep up the good work.  I know it looks like a lot but by now you know the drill.

It was good to talk to some of you this week, if I haven’t in a while I’m going to continue checking in.  If you haven’t heard from me in a while and feel like chatting drop me an email, a messenger, or shoot me off a text.  Most of you have my cell number by now.

As always, stay safe and I miss you guys.

Hey mathletes,  This week’s lessons and assignments are on the site.  We’re making really good progress, so just keep up the great work.

I’ll be touching base for a little chat with the Foundations 11 class this week just to see how things are and if I can help at all.  If you want me to call you on your cell because it might be easier email me your number sometime this week.  If not I’ll try home phones.

Anyone else who is having any issues with Khan Academy or with simply missing me too much (haha) send me a messenger, or email and we can chat.

I miss you guys.

Stay safe.

Hey troops.

As always I hope everyone is staying healthy and happy.  Our new assignments are up and ready to go.

i know the trigonometry stuff is tricky in PreCal but don’t worry.  Do your best.  Mr. Murphy and I can tidy anything up that anyone might not fully get on our own when life gets back to normal.  I promise.

Those of you working toward the credit in both grade eleven courses, you are doing great.  Keep it up.

Hi everyone, hope we are all still doing well.  Max is the happiest dog in the world and Miss Danielle and I are hanging in there.

I have put the new topics up for this week.  Those of you working toward a credit in either Grade 11 class, just keep doing the assignments.  I know this is a little different than normal but you guys are doing a great job.

Ill be reaching out the next few days, but as always, if you need me for anything,  send me an email or a text or a messenger.  Whatever works for you works for me.

Stay safe my Mathletes.

Hey guys,

After our meeting this morning, it has been decided that both 11 Pre Cal and 11 Foundations will be offered for credit purpose.

All this means for you is that to get the credit you need to do the assignments I post weekly on Khan Academy. The program helps me monitor your progression and skills attained. Simply do the work and you will be in line for the credit.

If you need 11 Foundations for post secondary education, you need to do this. If you are an international student, you also need the credit. Truth be told, it is a good idea for everyone to do the work, but it is up to you.

If you choose not to, you receive an ‘Enrolled’ on your transcript. This will allow you to graduate or move on to grade 12.

Stay safe everyone.

Hey guys.  i hope everyone is still doing well.  I have put up new assignments for all classes on Khan Academy.

if you havent signed up on Khan Academy yet you should do so.  All of our assignments will be on there from now on.  The instructions are in the previous weeks post.

if you are on a PLP for grade 9 Math there are different assignments for you but they can’t be shared until you join the class.

Dont forget how much fun and challenging logic problems are.  The site on my page is great.  There are new puzzles everyday.

Hey guys.  We’re going to try something different this week.  I think it may be a great change.  I have created classes and accounts in Khan Academy for us all.  This is a place where what I would teach you is taught on video and backed up by worksheets to practice.  I know it is not the same as me teaching you, but it is very good.

The site is really easy to use.  Go to www.khanacademy.org.  Once there it will ask you to Sign Up on the top right.  Join as a learner and add birthdate (does not need to be real one).  Next click sign up with email.  It will take you to a page where you enter your email, first name, last name and password.  Click Sign Up.

Next, follow the prompt for what grade you are in and next prompt (this one doesn’t mean much).  You will now be at your page.  On the left go to Teachers prompt.  Now you simply add the code that I have given you based on what class of mine you are in.  A pop up will show up, simply click ONWARD.

After you do all that, you are done.  I get a prompt on my page that you have joined the class and I have to hit accept.  Once I do that you will see your class on the side of your homepage and be able to click on the assignment and make your way through stuff.  I’ll check my account every hour or so to accept people, so if it takes a minute it’s not your fault.  I’m probably walking Max and social distancing.

I think this site might be good.  Give it a try and we’ll chat and see if it works and re-evaluate in a few weeks if we need to.

Have fun. Do what you can and feel free to try what you want.  I miss you guys.

Hi guys.  Hope everybody is dong well and making the best of things.  Miss Danielle, Max and I are holding up.  Truth be told, Max is loving this becuase he gets five or six walks a day now.

I know things are very different right now, and some of you are worried.  We're all going to be okay.  The most important thing is that we take care of ourselves and our loved ones.  That being said Math is also kind of important (stop me if you've heard me say that before).  I've prepared some lessons and sheets for all of my classes.  The lessons are mostly in video form and are pretty easy to understand.  The sheets all have answer pages with them so you can sort of guage your understanding.

Please understand though, I nor anyone else, expects you to be able to teach this stuff to yourself.  The lessons should be able to give you a road map, and there's lots to practice on.  There is absolutley no pressure.  This is not supposed to be anything that stresses you out or worries you.  I have chosen topics that we just want to practice up on and hopefully expose oursleves to so when we return we won't miss a beat.  I promise.

If you run into difficulty, don't worry.  I will be checking my email every day and I'll do everything I can to get back to you in one day.  Just remember that this is simply a way for us to keep using our Math skills and hopefully develop a few new ones.

My email is andrew.whitty@nbed.nb.ca when you have concerns.

Stay safe everyone.  I miss you.
