STORWELL Bursary

Storwell is offering an annual bursary of $2000 in support of foster children to help attend post-secondary school.

This award is non-refundable, but candidates are welcome to apply for it once a year. The successful candidate must be an active member of their community, has excellent grades, and displays financial need.

To be considered, simply fill out our application, email a copy of your most recent academic transcript as well as proof of citizenship to awards@storwell.com

Deadline for entry is September 1, 2022

Oulton College Webinars for Students

Oulton College is offering three evening webinars for students. Two are program specific highlighting their Policing and Corrections Program as well as our Veterinary Technician program. The other is a great information session on Oulton College and the 19 programs we offer.

Virtual AARAO Post-Secondary Kumospace Event- November 18th

This is a friendly reminder that AARAO will be hosting their next virtual AARAO fair this Thursday, November 18th on Kumospace from 7:00pm – 9:00pm. This event will be handing out a cash prize of $500 to one lucky student, just for attending! Students may access the site by heading to: Atlantic Association of Registrars and Admissions Officers (AARAO) (vfairs.com). Students can register for our fairs by going to www.aarao.ca/fairs. This information will also be posted on the DRHS FB page and the school website under Guidance and C. Harquail.
 
You are also being reminded to check the DRHS website for guidance information on a regular basis. Upcoming post-secondary school events are being posted regularly, and you would not want to miss out on an event.

Saint Mary's University Webinar, November 17, at 7 pm

Saint Mary's University will be hosting a webinar next Wednesday, November 17, at 7pm. It will be a general presentation on Saint Mary’s and what they have to offer. Length of presentation: 30-40 mins, followed by a Q&A. A waiver code will be provided for anyone in attendance, this will allow participants to apply for free!

Careers in Canada’s Financial Service Industry and STEM- Register: November 24th

WCM’s In2Fin (formerly SheBiz) is a free, half-day, virtual event for high school students of all genders in Grades 9-12 and CEGEP on November 24, 2021 from 12:00–3:00 PM EST.

The event will welcome speakers from some of Canada's largest financial institutions, current university students from across the country, and educational leaders.
In2Fin aims to:
• Increase awareness of rewarding career paths in finance and STEM
• Inspire students to continue their STEM education
• Introduce students to industry role models and show how a career in finance can make an impact

UNB Fredericton offers two programs:
Bachelor of Science in Geomatics Engineering
A 4-year program that gives graduates the opportunity

A 3-year program that gives graduates the opportunity
to become a Professional Land Surveyor. This program
focuses on Land Surveying, Remote Sensing, GIS, GPS,

Virtually join several members of the Geomatics Undergraduate Engineering Student Society (GUESS) for a semi-informal info night!
