The Credit Union Ltd. is pleased to offer its customers and their children the opportunity of receiving its first year post-secondary bursary. The bursary, in the amount of $500.00, is awarded each year to a customer in good standing to help defray the cost of their dependent children’s first year of post-secondary study. A bursary will be awarded annually, to an applicant who has graduated, or whose graduation is pending, from Dalhousie Regional High School. The bursary will be made payable to the successful applicant and the institution being attended and will be forwarded directly to the institution for credit against the winner’s tuition. Consideration of applications will be based primarily on financial need and secondly on academic achievement and extracurricular involvement.

All applications will be considered by the education committee but only the successful applicants will be notified of their decision. Deadline for applications is April 30 of each year. Each bursary will be awarded at the spring graduation where applicable

Class presentations on course registration will take place the week of April 6th for students that are currently in grade 10 and 11. This presentation will assist students in selecting the appropriate courses for the following school year (2021-2022). Parents and students are being advised to review the Course Registration Guide and the DRHS Course List prior to April 6th. Reviewing the guide and the course list with your child will help in the course selection process. Please refer to the attachments below for information. 

The DRHS course registration guide, for students entering grades 11 and 12, is designed to assist you in selecting courses that will meet the New Brunswick High School Graduation requirements and to choose courses that will reflect your future learning and career goals (see attachment). Students have the opportunity to choose from a wide variety of courses and programs that lead to success in post-secondary studies and in the workforce.

This guide will assist parents and students to make informed decisions in regards to high school course selection. It also includes graduation requirements, second language proficiency levels, course listings, course descriptions and various options for students. Parents and students should contact the school’s guidance counselor to address any concerns or questions regarding course selection.

If you plan to apply to NBCC, this is a reminder that grade 11 students will be able to apply for the 2022-2023 academic year beginning Thursday, April 1st, 2021. This date was moved to June last year but we are proud to say it has returned to April for 2021. Grade 11’s will be able to apply as well as upload their transcript online. All information for grade 11 applicants can be found here.

A few key reminders:
Grade 11 applicants must select the next available admit term on ther application (e.g. Students applying for Fall 2022 would select Fall 2021 and their application would be automatically rolled over to Fall 2022)
Students must not apply before 12:00 am on Thursday, April 1st. Should a student apply early, their application will be dated April 2nd.

Atlantic Association of Registrar’s and Admissions Officers (AARAO) upcoming events

In addition to all of our AARAO Members, the spring events welcome representatives from a wide array of educational services and providers:

The Spring events will allow students/parents to check in, discover, explore further, and ensure they are on the right track. This time there are no presentations, just virtual meeting rooms open for the 1.5 hour events for participants to explore at their own pace.

Application must be submitted to the High School Guidance Office no later than May 27th. Note: If May 27th falls on a Saturday or Sunday, your application form is due the next business day.

Applicant must be attending one of the three schools: NBCC, CCNB or NB College of Craft and Design

One scholarship is available for each NB high school in the year for which it is granted.

One of our goals is to help students pursue their dreams in attending post secondary education. Each year we give a bursary to a student (DRHS and AQV) who excels academically and who also is involved in school and community activities. Family income is also a factor as it is usually an obstacle in the final decision to attend a post secondary institution.

Application for this bursary closes on May 21, 2021

 Selection is based on the following criteria:

·  Family income

·  Academic scores

·  School activities

·  Community activities

·  Hobbies and sports

 This is a $1000.00 bursary for ONE year.The cheque will be issued after the Rotary Club of Dalhousie receives   PROOF OF ATTENDANCE  and  CONFIRMATION OF PAYMENT of second semester.
