The Essential Skills Achievement Pathway (ESAP) Program is an opportunity for students to earn a high school diploma that prepares them for a post-secondary education, apprenticeship or the world of work. The program consists of personalized learning opportunities that allow students to explore their skills, talents, abilities and interests while intentionally attaining the 9 federally identified Essential Skills. Proficiency in these skills are demonstrated and evaluated through problem and project based learning in the essential skills classroom, content specific courses, community experiential learning and work place opportunities. The ESAP program prepares students for the current skills based economy as well as future work, learning and life.

The Credit Union Ltd. is pleased to offer its customers and their children the opportunity of receiving its first year post-secondary bursary. The bursary, in the amount of $500.00, is awarded each year to a customer in good standing to help defray the cost of their dependent children’s first year of post-secondary study. A bursary will be awarded annually, to an applicant who has graduated, or whose graduation is pending, from Dalhousie Regional High School. The bursary will be made payable to the successful applicant and the institution being attended and will be forwarded directly to the institution for credit against the winner’s tuition. Consideration of applications will be based primarily on financial need and secondly on academic achievement and extracurricular involvement.

Application is attached. Applications are also available in the guidance center. 

All applications will be considered by the education committee but only the successful applicants will be notified of their decision. Deadline for applications is April 30 of each year. Each bursary will be awarded at the spring graduation where applicable

The Co-operative Enterprise Council of New Brunswick is offering two (2) x $750 scholarships just for students in New Brunswick. Co-operative Enterprise Council of New Brunswick helps service and empower diverse Co-operative businesses in New Brunswick.

These scholarships are open to all grade 12 students in New Brunswick and applying is easy through myBlueprint. Students simply enter the draw from the Scholarships tab in their myBlueprint account or can visit this link (login required).
 
The scholarship draw deadline is May 14, 2021.
 
 
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What are the student eligibility requirements?
Any grade 12 student in your schools can enter by visiting this link (login required). Ten (10) Finalists will be selected from all entries. Finalists will be required to complete an Application Form with questions provided by the Scholarship Sponsor.

What do I do if I’m a student and I don’t have a myBlueprint account?
If you are a student and your school is registered with myBlueprint and you don’t have an account, ask your guidance counsellor or teacher for sign up instructions.

How will students receive the money?
Scholarships will be paid directly to post-secondary institutions upon receipt of proof of enrollment by the winning students.

When is the deadline for entry? 
Students must enter the scholarship draw before the deadline on May 14, 2021.

How will the winning students be selected?
Ten (10) Finalists will be selected from all entries. Application Forms from the Finalists will be judged by myBlueprint and the Scholarship Sponsor to select winners.

How will the winning students be notified?
Winning students will be notified by email to the email address they used to register their myBlueprint account.

Do students need a myBlueprint account to apply to these scholarships?
Yes. If you are a student and don’t have a myBlueprint account, ask your teacher or counsellor for sign up instructions. If your school isn’t registered with myBlueprint, have your school counsellor or principal reach out to info@myBlueprint.ca for more information.

How will Grade 12 students be made aware of the Co-operatives scholarship award?
Grade 12 students will have access to the scholarship directly within the Scholarship section of their myBlueprint account.

Where can teachers find information to share with students about co-operatives?
Students have access to a brand new guide titled "Working for co-operatives" where they can explore why co-ops are a great career choice! The guide can be accessed in their myBlueprint account from the Guides section in the left-hand navigation menu.

Class presentations on course registration will take place the week of April 6th for students that are currently in grade 10 and 11. This presentation will assist students in selecting the appropriate courses for the following school year (2021-2022). Parents and students are being advised to review the Course Registration Guide and the DRHS Course List prior to April 6th. Reviewing the guide and the course list with your child will help in the course selection process. Please refer to the attachments below for information. 

The DRHS course registration guide, for students entering grades 11 and 12, is designed to assist you in selecting courses that will meet the New Brunswick High School Graduation requirements and to choose courses that will reflect your future learning and career goals (see attachment). Students have the opportunity to choose from a wide variety of courses and programs that lead to success in post-secondary studies and in the workforce.

This guide will assist parents and students to make informed decisions in regards to high school course selection. It also includes graduation requirements, second language proficiency levels, course listings, course descriptions and various options for students. Parents and students should contact the school’s guidance counselor to address any concerns or questions regarding course selection.

First Nation Student Education Opportunities: Scholarships, Resources and Support, a guide to help students in search of resources to assist them during their post-secondary education.See attachment for information.

On behalf of the Department of Education’s Office of First Nation Education, we hope you find this document helpful and we wish you all the best through your educational journey.

If you plan to apply to NBCC, this is a reminder that grade 11 students will be able to apply for the 2022-2023 academic year beginning Thursday, April 1st, 2021. This date was moved to June last year but we are proud to say it has returned to April for 2021. Grade 11’s will be able to apply as well as upload their transcript online. All information for grade 11 applicants can be found here.

A few key reminders:
Grade 11 applicants must select the next available admit term on ther application (e.g. Students applying for Fall 2022 would select Fall 2021 and their application would be automatically rolled over to Fall 2022)
Students must not apply before 12:00 am on Thursday, April 1st. Should a student apply early, their application will be dated April 2nd.

Offers 30 programs, in the areas of academic upgrading, computer and information systems, health and human development, automotive and construction studies, business studies, chemical, electronics and industrial controls and mechanical and industrial studies.

The Department of Education and Early Childhood Development (EECD) is offering a free summer learning program for students entering grade 10, 11 or 12 in the upcoming school year, or those who will graduate in June 2021. To be eligible, you need to be registered in a New Brunswick High School, in June of this year, in one of the four Anglophone districts. Please note students entering Grade 10 are only eligible to take Number, Relations, and Functions 10. This program will allow you to earn a mark that will be added to your regular school transcript. 

 

If you have any specific questions, please reach out to the principal or the schools' guidance counselor.

The Spring events will allow students/parents to check in, discover, explore further, and ensure they are on the right track. This time there are no presentations, just virtual meeting rooms open for the 1.5 hour events for participants to explore at their own pace.

One of our goals is to help students pursue their dreams in attending post secondary education. Each year we give a bursary to a student (DRHS and AQV) who excels academically and who also is involved in school and community activities. Family income is also a factor as it is usually an obstacle in the final decision to attend a post secondary institution.

Application for this bursary closes on May 21, 2021

 Selection is based on the following criteria:

·  Family income

·  Academic scores

·  School activities

·  Community activities

·  Hobbies and sports

 This is a $1000.00 bursary for ONE year.The cheque will be issued after the Rotary Club of Dalhousie receives   PROOF OF ATTENDANCE  and  CONFIRMATION OF PAYMENT of second semester.
