1. Read The Leap starting on Page 190 in the Echoes textbook. (If you don't have the book, you can click on the attachment to read it. As you read it, make 5 notes about the story that might include: information about character, setting, questions you have, something you don't understand, a part you like, etc.). Also I passed out a handout to write about character traits of the main character. You can just write it on a piece of paper. A minimum of 2 character traits and HOW you know that the character has the traits. What did the character do or say or thing to show that character trait.

Read the first three pages of "The Veldt" (including the biography) and annotate (interesting parts, questions, character traits, etc.).
