Rain, rain, and more rain! My flower garden, trees, and well is so happy to see all this rain. Hope you are all continuing to be well. This weeks assigned (in the khan academy program) is the unit of AREA. This is a practical unit one can utilize many times in calculatiing area in "real life" situations (carpenter, seamstress, painter/artist, etc.). Please continue to stay safe and healthy.

Sorry for the delay in posting this weeks new extended learning item. First, I hope you are all keeping well and staying safe. For those who have signed up for the Khan Academy (https://www.khanacademy.org/join CODE: 6A8UFHN9) continue learning at your pace. But now we are heading into the reproduction unit of the course. As an introductory, here is a web site to review. www.cellsalive.com. There you will find an interactive site with 9 various groups, select on the Interactive Cells Model to learn about various parts of the cell (plant and animals cells). I will provide various web links next week in relation to this section. Take care my fellow learners! Grace (my loving cat) is loving our time together and giving some well needed "cat love"!

Students who have completed the online links from last week are to submit their results to my email address: elaine.levesquegodin@nbed.nb.ca. This week has been a very trying emotional week with the current events that have occurred in Nova Scotia. So for this weeks assignment, I am encouraging students to take time with your family or family members to spend some quality time doing an activity that is will be mentally stimulating and non-stressful. Cook together, play a game together, watch a movie or do a random act of kindness. Let me know what you have done and how successful it was! I have learned to make homemade pretzels.... so good... during my time at home while listening to music. Cooking and playing cards is therapy for me! What's your activitiy of therapy?

How is the online course going? This is definitely a new way of teaching and a new way of learning! I know some of you have signed up later than other students but please do not worry about your placement in this course. It is self paced and continue the course in the order you see the information provided online. Fractions, mulitplication and division are the areas to focus on this week and next week. So how is the online course going? I am glad this course if offered as a credit. For those whio will be attending future studies after grad 12, this course will be beneficial for students to have as credit on their report card. I have been monitoring your progress online and most of you seem to be managing well. If you have not already mastered the Cell unit, I would strongly suggest you do so this week.
